Tony Gee and Andrew Tierney will be showing the evolving attack surface of modern vehicles, from firmware updates through to delivering malware through encoded music. They’ll discuss real-life risks of vehicle hacking, for example, taking control of drivetrain components through what is known as a ‘downgrade’ attack. It’s not all bad news though, they’ll be showing how manufacturers can reduce the risk of attack too.
