Joe Williams will be talking about: IoT forensics and security. What is it, and how do you do it?
This talk is a must for anyone involved or interested in IoT device and platform security and forensics. While security is important we’ll look more at forensic techniques to extract data and discover secrets that should be hidden.
There’s a lot to cover so we’ll start with a solid overview of IoT security. We’ll then look at vehicle hacking and forensics, the flaws in children’s toys, and will close with wearable devices and the associated cloud platforms. All the examples come from our real-world research and vulnerability disclosures. You’ll come away with a great grounding in the principles, concepts, and most importantly how IoT security can fail and allow forensics to unveil supposed secrets.
